NZ Junior Team Champs 2022

Last updated: 11/08/2022

This year Team WN entered a total of five teams into NZJTC. Two teams in U19s category, in both Divisions 1 and 2, and one team in Division 2 for the other age group categories (U13, U15 and U17).

The #NZJTC22 is a yearly event held at Palmerston North in which it is the biggest highlight for all juniors. This was a four day event with a total of 505 players involved! The largest so far.

Our teams did exceptionally well and we are so incredibly proud of each and everyone of our Juniors. A huge congratulations to our 🥇U15, 🥉U17 and 🥉U19 teams concluding the campaign with a podium finish in the Division 2 competitions.

Our U19 teams narrowly missed their spot in the Division 1 semi-final, losing only by one game against Badminton Canterbury. However dominated the play-off, finishing 5th overall.

Our U13 team competed for the first time ever at #NZJTC with a respectable fifth place finish in Division 2.

Team WN was also awarded the Skarott Shield. The Skarott Shield is a recognition of the Skarott Family's contributions to badminton, and it is awarded to the most improved association each year at #NZJTC. This meant, Team WN has continued to grow and thrive on the national stage.

Finally, a massive thank you to all the coaches, managers, parents and TAB who have supported our teams for the past four days. Your dedication and funding support has enable us to provide yet again the best badminton experience for our upcoming badminton stars!

U15s Gold in Division 2

U17s Bronze in Division 2
