Badminton in Red

In line with the latest announcement by the Government, Wellington North Badminton remains open with the use of Vaccine Pass when NZ/Wellington moved to Red at 11:59pm 23 January. All stadium users (including any players, contractors, spectators and visitors) will be required to have their Vaccine Pass verified to gain entry. Please read this update in full as it contains important information on how you can access court booking, attend in-stadium programmes and training.

IMPORTANT NOTE

All players must be REGISTERED (with a Hello Club account), VERIFIED (with Vaccine Pass) and NAMED in all court bookings. Any bookings that do not comply with these requirements will be cancelled. This will be strictly enforced by staff whilst NZ/Wellington remains in the Red setting.

Court Hire

For all court bookings from 24 January:

  • All players must have a registered Hello Club account
  • All players must have their Vaccine Pass verified (either online or by staff)
  • All players must be named in the booking (up to a maximum of 8 players per court per booking)
  • Vaccine Pass only needs to be verified once until the pass expiry date for all registered players
  • Bookings for non-registered players are only available during staffed hours, Vaccine Pass will be verified by staff upon entry
  • Children under 12 years are not required to show a vaccine pass
  • Staff will apply spot checks to verify participants' Vaccine Pass
  • Additional ID may be requested by staff

You will be asked to vacate the stadium if you fail to comply with these guidelines, and future bookings and membership maybe denied.


Club Sessions

From 24 January:

  • All club sessions will be limited to a maximum of 42 players (to allow for 1m physical distancing)
  • All players must have their Vaccine Pass verified by club management
  • Club management must take all reasonable steps to verify all participants' Vaccine Pass as part of their check-in process
  • It is at the Club's discretion to check for passes at every session or to verify this once until the pass expiry date for members and regular players
  • Children under 12 years are not required to show a vaccine pass
  • Staff will apply spot checks to verify participants' Vaccine Pass
  • Additional ID may be requested by staff

You will be asked to vacate the stadium if you fail to comply with these guidelines, and future club bookings and membership may be denied.


Team WN Training Sessions

From 24 January:

  • All players must have their Vaccine Pass verified by staff before their next training session
  • Vaccine Pass only needs to be verified once until the pass expiry date for all registered players
  • Any casual players who are not regular players of any Team WN squads, coaches must take all reasonable steps to verify their Vaccine Pass
  • Children under 12 years are not required to show a vaccine pass
  • Staff will apply spot checks to verify participants' Vaccine Pass
  • Additional ID may be requested by staff

You will be asked to vacate the stadium if you fail to comply with these guidelines, and future training opportunities may be denied.


In-Stadium Programmes

(e.g. Shuttle Time Programmes, Adult Classes)

From 24 January:

  • All in-stadium programmes will be limited to a maximum of 66 participants at any one time (to allow for 1m physical distancing)
  • All participants must have their Vaccine Pass verified by staff before their next session
  • Vaccine Pass only needs to be verified once for the duration of the programme (per term/per programme series)
  • All other visitors (including any officials, parents, spectators) must have their Vaccine Pass verified by staff on the day of the programme to gain entry
  • Children under 12 years are not required to show a Vaccine Pass
  • Staff will apply spot checks to verify participants' Vaccine Pass
  • Additional ID may be requested by staff

You will be asked to vacate the stadium if you fail to comply with these guidelines, and any future programme opportunities may be denied.


In-Stadium Events

(e.g. Wellington North Open)

From 24 January:

  • All in-stadium events will be limited to a maximum of 100 people, and a maximum of 66 participants in the court area (to allow for 1m physical distancing) at any one time
  • All participants must have their Vaccine Pass verified by staff upon entry, failure to provide a Vaccine Pass may result in automatic withdrawal from the event
  • All other visitors (including any officials, parents, spectators, volunteers) must have their Vaccine Pass verified by staff on the day of the event to gain entry
  • Children under 12 years are not required to show a Vaccine Pass
  • Staff will apply spot checks to verify participants' Vaccine Pass
  • Additional ID may be requested by staff

How do I book a court?

You must have a Hello Club account to book a court. If you have an existing Hello Club account, it will be restricted until your Vaccine Pass is verified by staff. You can visit us during our extended staff hours to get your Vaccine Pass verified. All players for a booking must have a Hello Club account with their Vaccine Pass verified by staff and be named in the booking.

How do I create an account on Hello Club?

All players must register for a FREE account on Hello Club for court bookings. Simply go to https://bookings.wnba.org.nz/register and follow the prompt. Any new registration will be approved once your Vaccine Pass is verified by our staff.

Can I email you a copy of my Vaccine Pass to be verified?

No. For security and privacy reasons, you should never email a copy of your Vaccine Pass to anyone. Any email containing a copy of a Vaccine Pass will be deleted immediately.

Do I need to have my Vaccine Pass verified for every booking?

No. Once your Vaccine Pass is verified by staff, you won't have to get it verified again until it expires. However staff may still apply spot checks from time to time and ID may be requested.

Can I access the Stadium without a Vaccine Pass?

No.

Can a negative test be used instead of a Vaccine Pass?

No. Every stadium user and/or participant must have their Vaccine Pass verified to gain entry. However, we will seek further guidance to see if this may be a possibility for the future.

What if my Club/Group currently plays badminton at a venue different to Wellington North Badminton Stadium?

Your club/group will have to adhere to the guidance and policies relevant to that venue.

How do I participate in a tournament?

All participate must have their Vaccine Pass verified by staff upon entry to the stadium. Failure to provide a Vaccine Pass may result in automatic withdrawal from the event. All other visitors (including any officials, parents, spectators, volunteers) must have their Vaccine Pass verified by staff on the day of the event to gain entry.

Are children under 12 permitted to take part in programmes at the Wellington North Badminton Stadium?

Yes, children under 12 are not required to have a Vaccine Pass verified. Parents or legal guardians may be asked for evidence of their children's date of birth.

Can I watch my children play?

Yes! However, you will require a Vaccine Pass upon entry to the stadium.
