DESCRIPTION:Badminton and Pickleball fun for children ages 6-17 years. \n12:30pm-15:30pm \nTuesday 14 Jan\, Thursday 16 Jan\, Tuesday 21 Jan and Thursday 23 Jan 2024. \n$30 for one session\, $115 for all 4 sessions. \nChildren should bring a drink bottle and some food for snacks.  We ask that children wear clothes suitable for running around in. We provide racquets and shuttles for use on the courts. \nThis programme is targeted at young players\, it focuses on giving children an insight into badminton and also covers basic physical literacy. \nThis includes learning about Grips\, chasse movement and lunge\, backhand and forehand net shots\, Backhand and forehand lifts and high serves. Also the rules of the game and how to play with others. The children will be learning skills\, then have plenty of game time in order to practice these skills. \nWe stress the importance of confidence\, competence\, knowledge and understanding of the sport. We focus on having learning and also having fun!

Also the rules of the game and how to play with others. The children will be learning skills\, then have plenty of game time in order to practice these skills. \nWe stress the importance of confidence\, competence\, knowledge and understanding of the sport. We focus on having learning and also having fun!

DESCRIPTION:Classes are for the school term on Tuesdays and Thursdays at our stadium in Tawa\, and Fridays at Newlands Intermediate hall\, beginning week starting 2 February 2026.We offer an extensive junior badminton programme here at Wellington North Badminton. We provide a player pathway catering from the age of 6\, and for a range of abilities. The Shuttle Time Programmes are perfect to get the basics right from the start and prepare for social and competitive play; whilst our junior development and representative programmes will prepare those who are keen shuttlers wanting to compete regionally and nationally. Children begin in the Bronze class\, once they have mastered the skills required for that class their coach will move them up to the Silver class. Gold class is invitation only and for players who have completed bronze and silver class.
