SUMMARY:Shuttle Time Holiday Programme Jan 2023
DESCRIPTION:Badminton fun for children ages 6-17 years. 9am-midday Tuesday 17th and Thursday 19th January 2023. \n$20 for one session\, $35 for both sessions. \nChildren should bring a drink bottle and some food for snacks.  We ask that children wear clothes suitable for running around in. We provide racquets and shuttles for use on the courts. \nThis programme is targeted at young players\, it focuses on giving children an insight into badminton and also covers basic physical literacy. \nThis includes learning about Grips\, chasse movement and lunge\, backhand and forehand net shots\, Backhand and forehand lifts and high serves. Also the rules of the game and how to play with others. The children will be learning skills\, then have plenty of game time in order to practice these skills. \nWe stress the importance of confidence\, competence\, knowledge and understanding of the sport. We focus on having learning and also having fun!.

DESCRIPTION:Racketlon Holiday programme in conjunction with Tawa Tennis and Tawa Squash. A chance to have a go at all 3 racquet sports and have fun! \nPlayers rotate around each sport spending 1.5 hours at each club. Qualified coaches will take each session.\nPlease note holiday programme is for age 6 years and older. \nWhere possible we will try to accommodate friendships. Maximum per day is 36 then we will run a waitlist. \nDates:\n24 and 26 January 2023\nTime: 9am - 3pm \nRound 1: 9 - 10.30am\nRound 2: 11 - 12.30pm\nRound 3: 1.30 - 3pm \nPlayers will be supervised for morning tea and lunch\, and walked between each venue.\nBring morning tea\, lunch\, water bottle and raincoat (just in case).\nIf wet\, tennis coaching will be held at the badminton hall.

DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in representing Team Wellington North in 2023? YES!! Further information below and follow the link to express your interest! \nJunior U13/U15\nThe Junior Under 13 and 15 squads is a development squad providing the opportunity for our young players to get a taste of competitive badminton. The squad members are expected to train a minimum of one on-court session on Monday 5.30pm-7.30pm & one off-court physical conditioning session which is TBC. \nSelected players are expected to compete in the Capital Region Novice Team Competition (18th April 2023). Players are also encouraged to compete in the regional sanctioned tournaments to further improve and gain early tournament experience. Focus for the squad is participation driven. \nA group of players in U13 & U15 will also be selected for our performance squad\, there players are also expected to compete in the NZ National Junior Team Championships (2-5 July 2023) and are strongly encouraged to compete in the regional sanctioned tournaments to further improve and gain tournament experience. There are also encouraged to attend training with the U17 & U19. \nJunior U13 & U15 Talent Identification is on Saturday 18th February 12.30pm. \nJunior 17/19\nThe Junior Under 17 and 19 squads are a combination of development and performance-based squads providing opportunities for our young players to perform at a local and regional level.
