SUMMARY:Wellington North Team Doubles Competition
DESCRIPTION:WHAT IS THIS COMPETITION? \nThe competition has players enter in teams of a minimum of 3 players\, and will face off against other teams in 3 match ties. Players will rank themselves 1\, 2 and 3. Each player within their team will play with each other against the other teams’ pairings. E.g ranks 1 and 2 will play against the other teams rank 1 and 2. Depending on entries\, on each night your team will play against 1 or 2 other teams. We will be using the round robin format\, however\, if the number of teams is greater than nine (9) an alternative system may be used. This will be advised before the competition begins. Scoring shall be the best of three (3) games to 21 points with no extension. \n  \nWHEN IS IT STARTING? \nThe competition starts Thursday 11th November\, and goes for 4 weeks only. Play starts at 7.00pm sharp. The lights will go out at 10.00pm on all nights of play. \n  \nWHAT IF SOMEONE CANT MAKE IT ONE WEEK? \nIt is player's responsibility to find a replacement should they become unavailable. A team who defaults their games because of failure to appear will be charged a penalty fee of $20.00. This amount will be invoiced to the team who defaulted\, and will grow exponentially after multiple no shows. \nADDITIONAL INFO \nOnly available spaces for 12 teams\, so sign up early to guarantee a spot. \nA reasonable number of shuttles will be provided for each night of play. If there are insufficient shuttles to finish the nights play\, players will need to provide the shortfall. \nMale and female players will be playing in the same competition. \nTeams will receive 10 points for each match won\, plus an extra 15 points for winning their Tie. These points will be kept on a tally sheet which will be displayed on the notice board behind the courts and published on our website. \nIf an event does not get the minimum required number of entries\, we will let players know before the first week of competition and issue a refund to those players.

DESCRIPTION:Introducing the first Wellington North Badminton Teams League!! Player of all abilities are welcome\, including casual players\, club players\, juniors\, families\, seniors & vets!!\nSocial Grade for fun games and Open Grade for those seeking competitive play. Form a team or enter as an individual\, we can form one for you. This is a 6-weeks competition\, playing every Thursday\, 7:00pm to 9:30pm starting from 6 October to 10 November. \nCosts\n\n$265 per team (one entry per team)\n$90 for individual entry\n\nShuttles are included \nFormat\n\n3x doubles matches against another team. SUMMARY:Shuttle Time Holiday Programme Jan 2023
DESCRIPTION:Badminton fun for children ages 6-17 years. 9am-midday Tuesday 17th and Thursday 19th January 2023. \n$20 for one session\, $35 for both sessions. \nChildren should bring a drink bottle and some food for snacks.  We ask that children wear clothes suitable for running around in. We provide racquets and shuttles for use on the courts. \nThis programme is targeted at young players\, it focuses on giving children an insight into badminton and also covers basic physical literacy. \nThis includes learning about Grips\, chasse movement and lunge\, backhand and forehand net shots\, Backhand and forehand lifts and high serves. Also the rules of the game and how to play with others. The children will be learning skills\, then have plenty of game time in order to practice these skills. \nWe stress the importance of confidence\, competence\, knowledge and understanding of the sport. We focus on having learning and also having fun!.
